Giving back
Here at Lo Wu Saddle Club, we are dedicated to giving back to the community. We conduct group visits for different organizations around Hong Kong and China, allowing children and adults who would never normally get the opportunity to do so, to meet, learn about and ride horses. We also offer Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) lessons. Both of these activites we do free of charge.
Horse riding for disabled people has an infinitive number of benefits. As well as it being great fun, it also helps to develop confidence, co-ordination and balance. When RDA clients first start out with us, we give them plenty of time to familiarize themselves with the horses. This may be simply patting, feeding or grooming as this helps to create a bond with the horses. Once they feel confident, which tends to differ between each individual, they start riding the horses. All ridden work is done in a controlled environment with a qualified instructor and a knowledgeable leader with each horse. We have had many happy clients, both in the past and present.
