Competitions
We are always looking to give our riders the opportunity to develop or test their skills in an appropriate competitive environment. For those just starting in competitive riding or looking to extend their confidence, we offer in-house dressage and jumping events where riders are gently introduced to the formalities of competition. We also arrange in-house events such as pole scurries and handy-pony, which are an opportunity for younger or less experienced children to build skills and confidence in relaxed surroundings. These are often organised as part of a pony camp.
For our ambitious young riders, we have five 'competition teams' for whom competitive riding (whether dressage, jumping or cross-country) is a priority. In addition, we have been working with other equestrian providers in Hong Kong to develop more opportunities for junior riders and now have an established calendar of competitions against other Hong Kong riding schools for those aged from 8-12 years. We also host many of the events that comprise the Hong Kong Inter-School Equestrian Challenge, where competent riders between the ages of 10-16 years compete for their school in dressage and jumping.
Our capable adult and junior riders compete regularly throughout the cooler season in dressage, showjumping and cross-country, just down the road at the HKJC’s Bea’s River facility. The Club oversees all entry and transport arrangements for these off-site competitions.
